Parents naming their babies after ‘Avatar’ characters
January 18th, 2010 - 4:39 pm ICT by ANILondon, Jan 18 (ANI): James Cameron’s 3-D blockbuster ‘Avatar’ has had such a huge impact on movie fans that they are naming their babies after characters in film.
The choices include Neytiri - after the film’s Na’vi warrior-princess - and giant flying creature Toruk.
Another favourite is Pandora, name of the fictional planet.
It is tipped as top choice among US and UK parents.
Movie streaming site blinkbox.com has found major hits often spawned a rash of new names.
“Past the 100million dollars barrier, the chances of a film’s star lending their name to a child increase,” the Sun quoted a spokesman as saying. (ANI)
