Palin takes on Wall Street Journal reporter to prove she reads newspapers

New York, Nov.10 (ANI): A sensitive former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin sunk “her teeth” into a Wall Street Journal (WSJ) over her reading habits.
The Mama Grizzly accused the WSJ reporter of not reading his own publication.
The dispute stems from a speech Palin delivered at a business convention in Phoenix, criticizing the Federal Reserve’s current monetary policy ahead of the G-20 summit later this week in South Korea.
In her talk, Palin said, “Everyone who ever goes out shopping for groceries knows that the prices have risen significantly.”
The Journal’s Sudeep Reddy responded in his blog that, “Grocery prices haven’t risen all that significantly, in fact.”
“The consumer price index’s measure of food and beverages for the first nine months of this year showed average annual inflation of less than 0.6 percent, the slowest pace on record,” he said.
The Tea Party ringleader, apparently steamed over Reddy’s post, spouted off on her Facebook page, saying she read a story in the Journal that contradicted the reporter’s claim.
“Now I realize I’m just a former governor and current housewife from Alaska, but even humble folks like me can read the newspaper,” Palin said.
“I’m surprised a prestigious reporter for the Wall Street Journal doesn’t.”
During the 2008 election, the former vice presidential candidate was famously stumped on national TV when CBS News anchor Katie Couric asked Palin to name newspapers and magazines she read.
While Palin may have dispelled the notion that she doesn’t read newspapers, her response to Reddy was not completely accurate. (ANI)
