Pakistan wants more EU market access for its products
October 12th, 2011 - 1:31 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, Oct 12 (IANS) Pakistan wants more market access to European markets through Turkey for its products, a minister said.
Firdous Ashiq Awan, minister for information and broadcasting who is currently in Turkey, Tuesday emphasised on the need for more market access to European markets via Turkey for Pakistani products and said that Pakistan believed in trade and not aid.
She referred to cargo goods train project, Gul Train, that will link Pakistan via Iran and Turkey to European Union (EU) markets and urged early completion of this mega- connectivity project, reported Associated Press of Pakistan.
She held a meeting with Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc in Ankara.
She said Pakistan highly valued its relations with Turkey.
“We consider ourselves as the same nation living in two different geographical regions. Love for Turkey and its people is in every Pakistani’s blood,” she was quoted as saying.
