Islamabad, Oct 14 (IANS) Militant group Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Thursday released a video of a university professor it kidnapped in the country’s restive northwest, Xinhua reported.
Ajmal Khan, vice chancellor of Peshawar’s Islamia College University, was kidnapped by TTP militants from his official residence Sep 7.
In the video, Kalashnikov welding masked militants stood in the background as Khan appealed to the government and colleagues to help him get released. He said he was kidnapped by TTP.
“I’m a heart patient and can’t bear this captivity for long,” said Khan.
The professor is a cousin of Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali, the chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
