Islamabad, March 18 (IANS) The Pakistan parliament will discuss new rules of engagement with the US and resumption of a NATO supply route to Afghanistan during a joint session March 20.

The eagerly awaited parliament session may go on for three days, the Dawn reported.

The recommendations of the Parliament Committee on National Security, on reviewing ties with the US and the NATO after the Nov 26 attack, will be tabled in the session.

Pakistan had earlier boycotted an international conference held in Germany on the future of Afghanistan, and asked the US to vacate the Shamsi air base in Balochistan.

A meeting of the military and political leadership held earlier this week decided that the parliament committee would be fully authorised to take a decision about the resumption “or otherwise” of supplies for NATO forces in Afghanistan.

The daily said the committee would recommend to the government to secure better terms for reopening the supply routes.
