Pakistan envoy speaks to Wasim Akram over ailing wife

- New Delhi, Oct 22 (IANS) Pakistan High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik Thursday rang up Wasim Akram, former skipper of Pakistan’s cricket team, to inquire about the health of his ailing wife Huma Akram, who is undergoing treatment at Apollo hospital in Chennai.
Malik is also in touch with Dr. Reddy of the Apollo hospital, who is treating Huma Akram.
Huma Akram’s condition worsened during the air ambulance’s scheduled refuelling at Chennai airport on Tuesday when she was being flown to Singapore from Lahore for treatment. She was rushed to Apollo Hospital.
Huma is on ventilator and her condition is said to be critical.
