Islamabad , Aug 14 (ANI): Pakistan Government has opposed India s unilateral decision of allowing trekking teams to Siachen glacier. The countrys Information Minister Sherry Rehman said that the move would undermine the dialogue process with India .
She said the Indian decision was a matter of concern for Pakistan , and that her countrys government had immediately lodged a strong protest with New Delhi regarding this.
Pakistan wanted progress towards solution of all disputes with India without compromising its principled position, the Daily Times quoted Sherry as saying.
PML-Q member Marvi Memon had asked the foreign affairs minister about steps taken by the government regarding India s decision to allow civilian trekking on Siachen glacier.
Speaking on behalf of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Sherry said the Siachen issue was being discussed within the framework of the composite dialogue, and any unilateral action taken by India on the glacier had the potential to undermine the ongoing dialogue. (ANI)
