Washington, Dec.13 (ANI): The United States said on Friday that in spite of the terror attacks in Mumbai, nothing pointed to Pakistan for it to be declared “a terrorist-assisting country”.

Responding to a question, US State Department Sean McCormack told a press conference in Washington that though the Jamaat-ud-Dawa was allegedly involved in the Mumbai carnage, nothing discussed so far gave the suggestion that Pakistan needed to be considered a terrorist-assisting country.

Lauding Islamabad’’s prompt crackdown on the Jamaat-ud-Dawa and other terrorist outfits, The News quoted McCormack as saying that the war on terror across the world needs to be monitored closely.

Responding to another question he said U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice would meet Britain’’s Foreign Secretary David Miliband in United Nations next week and he expected that the tension between Pakistan and India would be discussed. (ANI)
