P. F. Chang’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Arizona Marathon To Witness Thousands Of Participants

marathonJan 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Thousands of Americans would be taking part in the P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon on Sunday which would link three cities of Arizona (Phoenix, Tempe and Scottsdale). On Saturday, nearly 3,500 kids took part in the big event and on Sunday, the adults would run the streets to win the attractive prize and the prestigious title. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon takes place every year in Arizona, before Martin Luther King Jr. Day and it is sponsored by P. F. Chang’s China Bistro.

The transport authorities of Arizona have already announced that the rail service and bus routes in Phoenix will be affected on Sunday. Even the bus routes will also be affected as the streets will be filled with thousands of contestants and also the spectators. Both full and half Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon will start from Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza in Phoenix and it will finish on Packard Drive in Tempe. The transport authority has declared that all the roads, which surrounds Arizona State Capitol, will also be closed from 4 a.m.

The Marathon organizers have reported that like every other year, this year also near about ten thousand participants have taken part in the event. However, this year’s favorite female participant Kara Goucher, is a renowned long distance runner and this Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon would mark her return from a maternity leave. Among male participants, 50K record holder Josh Cox would try to break his own record in the event. The spectators would look forward to see Sally Meyerhoff of Maricopa as well. About the Marathon, Josh Cox said that he would make the most use of his opportunity and would try to do “something special” in the marathon.
