Oz workers find their bosses stingy and bloody tight

April 4th, 2008 - 5:40 pm ICT by admin -

Melbourne, Apr 4 (ANI): More than a third of Australian employees find their bosses miser and stingy, according to a new survey.

The survey conducted over 718 people by Menulog.com.au has revealed that nearly 38 per cent of the workers have rated their boss as grudging, while 19 per cent have branded them as moderately kind.

However, there is a small group, only 15 per cent, which finds its bosses as extremely generous.

According to the website, the respondents said that they were forced to endure lousy instant coffee and pay for their own Christmas parties.

On being asked what perks would improve their working conditions, 47 per cent said free meals, and 20 per cent wanted a complimentary massage.

The survey showed that 14 per cent of the respondents preferred an espresso machine in the office kitchen and 4 per cent said they could do with a free trip to the beautician.

While employees love regular Friday evening drinks and the occasional meal out on the company, employers have to be more inventive with their perks in order to stand out from the crowd, News.com.au quoted Gary Munitz, general manager Menulog.com.au, as saying. (ANI)
