Canberra (Australia), June 1 (ANI): An Australian senator — Barnaby Joyce - has described Prime Minister Kevin Rudd as a “psycho chook” with peculiar habits, while another senator — Mark Arbib - admits Rudd is no Mother Teresa.
Some 18 months after the 2007 election, voters have a clearer picture of the man they chose over long-term PM John Howard.
“Kevin Rudd continues to be perceived as the best leader although the poll suggests his recent behaviour may have removed some of the gloss,” news.com.au quoted Galaxy Research chief executive David Briggs, as saying. The polling found that 43 per cent of voters agreed Rudd was someone who can turn nasty if he doesn’t get his way, compared with 31 per cent for Turnbull. But 55 per cent said Rudd was a strong leader and just 27 per cent said the same of Turnbull.More important for the Government, 51 per cent believe Rudd is the best choice for the current economic climate while 33 per cent went for Turnbull. The survey found the Liberals had problems with the perception of their leadership.
Turnbull was considered less trustworthy than Rudd (23 per cent to 46 per cent); more arrogant (47 per cent to 31 per cent); and more out of touch with ordinary Australians (48 per cent to 29 per cent).Close to a third of voters - 31 per cent - couldn’t decide who they would trust the most. (ANI)
