Oz nonagenarian charged with child rape
June 30th, 2010 - 6:58 pm ICT by ANILondon, June 30 (ANI): A 90-year-old Australian man has been detained in Thailand and charged with raping and sexually exploiting four young sisters, one of them as young as five, according to the police.
Karl Joseph Kraus allegedly tempted the kids, now aged seven to 14, to his home with imported chocolates and English lessons, reports the Daily Express.
The alleged abuse started two years ago.
A district police chief, Kritapol Yeesakorn, said Kraus was arrested on Tuesday at his home near the northern city of Chiang Mai, where police confiscated photographs of about 100 naked children and a variety of sex toys.
Police said they were also investigating whether Kraus was involved in a larger paedophilia network. (ANI)
