Canberra (Australia), Apr.11 (ANI): Australia’s Defence Minister Stephen Smith is considering an independent judicial inquiry into abuse and bastardisation at the Australian Defence Force Academy.

Several serving senior military officers, whose names are included on documents obtained by The Daily Telegraph, were allegedly involved in serious crimes at ADFA including rape and assault.

They have never been disciplined for crimes that were concealed from police after other cadets were ordered by senior officers not to speak out or their careers would be over.

Meanwhile, the seven male cadets who triggered the latest academy scandal by allegedly filming a sex act and broadcasting it on Skype remain on campus attending classes as usual while the young female victim has been forced to go home on compassionate leave.

The Daily Telegraph also reveals Defence misled the Federal Government about one serious attack.

An internal situation report, or “sitrep”, labelled “staff-in-confidence” admits officers lied to ministers and fabricated evidence against an 18-year-old male cadet who was forced to resign after he was bashed and raped and had attempted suicide.

The young man received no support or counselling from the military for his depression and post-traumatic stress disorder but has recovered and is now a successful barrister. (ANI)
