Oprah Winfrey named PETA’s person of the year
December 20th, 2008 - 9:45 pm ICT by IANSChicago, Dec 20 (IANS) Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey has been named ‘Person of the Year’ by animal-rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ (PETA).According to accesshollywood.com, the group will send Winfrey an award plaque and a letter of appreciation for lending her “powerful voice to defend those without one”, said PETA president Ingrid E. Newkirk.
