May 10th, 2011 - 2:49 pm ICT by IANSShanghai, May 10 (IANS) A heart-shaped cutout over a traffic light here` created quite a flutter with many citizens going online to describe it as pretty, creative or interesting. However, the traffic police was not amused and has removed it.
Drivers were initially puzzled to see the red signal in the shape of a heart at an intersection in Changning district over the weekend, reported Shanghai Daily.
The heart shape would get illuminated when the red light was on.
Passers-by clicked picture of the traffic signal and photographs posted on the web led to online discussions.

“It’s very creative and interesting… It should be introduced to other lights citywide,” said a person online.
Traffic police personnel were, however, not impressed and removed it Monday. Police said such behaviour was “neither welcomed nor allowed”.
