Washington, Sept 9 (ANI): The national job approval rating for US President Barack Obama popularity among his Hollywood supporters seems to have taken a hit.
In the latest Fox News Public Opinion Poll, Obama’s national job approval rating sits at 46 percent, which is down 19 points from a high of 65 percent at his inauguration.
Some of Obama’s Hollywood supporters are expressing disappointment over his positions on such issues as the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, gay marriage, health care and the economy, among other things.
Playboy founder Hugh Hefner is upset that the slow pace with which the President has moved troops out of combat operations overseas.
“We need to get out of the wars, we’re going through the same thing as Vietnam right now,” Fox News quoted Hefner as saying.
“We can’t please the world and all we do is make enemies,” he stated.
“True Blood” actress Ashley Jones is upset with President Obama’s health care initiatives, and says she would like him not to just try and equalize everything, but to actually make the quality of everything.
“It’s great that we’re having a health care reform, but if the quality will be compromised in any way for the majority just so everyone can have it, it seems counterproductive in some ways,” she said.
Actress Rose McGowan is peeved that the President is, in her point of view, so “moderate” when going up against Republicans, and that he is yet to make gay marriage the “national law” - an issue television host/author Olivia Munn also got pretty fired up about.
Comedian Cheech Marin would like Obama to show more strength in addressing the nation’s fiscal crisis.
While actor Joey Lawrence would simply like to see Obama live up to his campaign of “hope” and take a little more responsibility for all the issues, good and bad, at the top of the country’s national consciousness. (ANI)
