Washington, January 14 (ANI): U.S. President-elect Barack Obama has written a letter to his daughters Sasha, 7, and Malia, 10, revealing what he wants for them and every child in the country.
Obama, who will be sworn in as 44th U.S. President on January 20, has written that he wants every child in the country to go to school.
He has even expressed his desire for college admissions of those whose parents currently do not have enough means to buy them higher education.
I want all our children to go to schools worthy of their potentialschools that challenge them, inspire them, and instil in them a sense of wonder about the world around them. I want them to have the chance to go to collegeeven if their parents aren”t rich. And I want them to get good jobs: jobs that pay well and give them benefits like health care, jobs that let them spend time with their own kids and retire with dignity, Parade magazine quoted him as writing in the letter.
Obama has also discussed how important new technologies and inventions can be in helping improve the environment.
I want us to push the boundaries of discovery so that you”ll live to see new technologies and inventions that improve our lives and make our planet cleaner and safer. And I want us to push our own human boundaries to reach beyond the divides of race and region, gender and religion that keep us from seeing the best in each other, he wrote. (ANI)
