Obamas Kenyan half-brother says he doesnt do drugsFebruary 2nd, 2009 - 1:19 pm ICT by ANI
London, Feb 02 (ANI): U.S. president Barack Obamas Kenyan half-brother, George, says that he is not a drug user after being arrested in Nairobi for alleged possession of marijuana.
The 24-year-old, who was the son of Obamas father by his second wife, denies the allegation, insisting that its all a misunderstanding.
George spent two hours in a police cell before being released.
It was all a misunderstanding. Look, I dont feel comfortable talking about this, but I dont do drugs, Times Online quoted him, as saying.
George was one of the presidents few close relatives who did not travel to Washington for the inauguration on January 20.
Obamas young half-sibling was in the headlines last year after it was revealed that he was living in a corrugated iron shack in a sprawling slum as his brother ran for the most powerful job in the world.
The two met previously when Obama visited his ancestral homeland in an encounter that he described as a painful affair in his memoir Dreams from My Father. (ANI)
