Obama’s birth certificate would not end ‘birther’ controversy: Critics

Washington, Apr 28(ANI): United States President Barack Obama’s release of his birth certificate does little to end to the ‘birther’ controversy which has pestered him since he began running for the White House, critics have said.
Obama had released the birth certificate on Wednesday, saying the country should focus on more important issues.
However, Joseph Farah, editor in chief of WorldNetDaily and birther extraordinaire, said: “It raises far more questions than it answers.”
Farah’s online publication has run hundreds of articles over the past couple of years questioning Obama’s citizenship.
Orly Taitz, a prominent Obama critic who has questioned his birthplace, said that she thinks the newly released document is questionable because Obama’s father’s race is listed as “African.”
“It sounds like it would be written today, in the age of political correctness, and not in 1961, when they wrote white or Asian or ‘Negro’,” the Washington Post quoted Taitz, as saying.
Meanwhile, Sharon Guthrie, legislative director for Texas politician Leo Berman, who has introduced a bill that would require that anyone running in Texas for president provide an original birth certificate proving American citizenship, said: “You know as well as I do that you can produce a fraudulent form”.
Guthrie also argued that the document Obama produced is not a birth certificate, but merely a “certificate of live birth,” which she considers something different. (ANI)
