Washington, Apr 20(ANI): U.S. President Barack Obama will conduct an online re-election rally today with a town-hall-style chat on the social networking website Facebook.
Obama had posted a 30-second YouTube video on his Facebook page on Monday, urging his 19.3 million friends to join him, and invite others, for the chat with Mark Zuckerberg, the website’s chief executive, at his side.
“Hi, everybody. I just want to take a minute to invite you to a town hall meeting on the economy that I’m holding at Facebook’s headquarters this Wednesday, April 20,” the New York Times quoted Obama, as saying in the video.
“It is going to be live-streamed, and I will answer questions from folks across the country,” he added.
The event will follow the theme of “Shared Responsibility and Shared Prosperity” that Obama laid out in remarks about the budget he delivered last Wednesday at George Washington University.
It will be streamed at WhiteHouse.gov., and will also be available at www.facebook.com/WhiteHouse.
Facebook’s headquarters is in Palo Alto, California. (ANI)
