Obama bit behind Romney, but way ahead of Palin in 2012 prez run: Poll

Washington, Nov 23 (ANI): US President Barack Obama’s popularity appears to have fallen among American voters, with the latest poll claiming that if elections were held today, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney would establish a lead over him by a point.
The poll however said that Obama would fare much better if Sarah Palin is placed opposite to him in the 2012 presidential poll.
According to the national Quinnipiac telephone poll, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney would lead by a one-percentage-point over Obama, 45 to 44 percent, but Obama would edge Palin by eight-percentage-points, 48 to 40 percent.
It also found that former GOP Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee could lose to Obama only by two points.
The Politico quoted Peter Brown, an assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, as saying that Palin is very unpopular among Independents, and although she recently said she thought she could defeat Obama, data does not support that claim.
“Unlike Daniels, who is a political unknown to most Americans, virtually all voters have formed an opinion about Palin and that opinion is not encouraging for her candidacy.”
The poll, which surveyed 2,424 registered voters from November 8-15, also found that nearly half of all American voters (49 percent) believe that Obama does not deserve to be re-elected, as opposed to the 43 percent who said he does deserve to succeed in the White House run. (ANI)
