Now, candy that you can inhale and clouds that you can drink!
October 16th, 2010 - 5:17 pm ICT by ANINew York, Oct 16 (ANI): Inventor David Edwards is a creator, and a crazy one at that.
Edwards has created a candy called Le Whif, which is to be inhaled, not eaten, and an edible eco-friendly water bottle that comes in flavours like chocolate and caramel.
He has also created Pumpkin, a water-storage device that expands and deflates depending on how much it carries, and La Waf, a contraption that turns beverages (including alcohol) into drinkable clouds.
“I’m actually having fun whether you call me mad or not. Creative people are having fun. I’ve been liberated by creation,” The New York Daily News quoted Edwards as saying in an interview.
When asked about his favourite creation, he replied, “I don’t have real favourites but I do have moments when I love some more than others. Le Whif has a special place in my heart. The idea of breathing food on one hand seems farcical and on the other hand it’s a completely artistic idea.”
So what’s the edible water bottle all about?
“It’s got a membrane that could be all chocolate, caramel, orange peel, whatever. You’ve got your water that sits inside something like an eggshell. The membrane protects the eggshell from kind of degrading with the water and it protects the membrane from evaporating. So the whole thing hangs out and you can lift off part of the shell and eat the membrane and then you can drink it like a gourd or eat it and drink it,” Edwards said.
Explaining La Waf, he said, “It’s a beautiful cloud in the sky and you fill it with, like, a glass of wine, and it sort of hangs in there, then you sip it out with a straw. If you do a martini, you can smell it and experience all of it. It’s really light, not meant to make people drunk.” (ANI)
