Now, a magic wand to control telly!
August 25th, 2010 - 4:38 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )London, Aug 25 (ANI): After appearing on a television show, a magic wand that can change TV channels has taken the UK by storm.
Online retailer Firebox.com has reported a massive 40-fold increase in sales of the Kymera Wand, within hours of it being shown on the Dragon’s Den, BBC2 business programme.
Viewers saw entrepreneurs Chris Barnardo and Richard Blakesley of The Wand Company get offers from all five Dragons and eventually accept a 200,000 pound investment from Duncan Bannatyne - the largest ever offer from a single Dragon.
Thousands of viewers logged on to Firebox.com during the show to find out more about the 49.99-pound product.
It can turn lights on and off, fast forward DVD players and change channels, all with the flick of the wand.
“We have seen a definite Dragons’ Den effect on numerous products that we’ve sold in the past, including the Trunki, Yoodoo Dolls and Road Refresher Dog Bowls,” the Sun quoted Christian Robinson of Firebox.com as saying.
“The Magic Wand is an innovative, quirky product which was one of our top sellers after its launch on Firebox.com last Christmas. We have more stock coming in to satisfy the demand,” Robinson added. (ANI)
