Now, a green poker table
June 2nd, 2008 - 5:14 pm ICT by ANIWashington, June 2 (ANI): Thousands of participants in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) will be the worlds first lot of players to enjoy the game on an environmentally friendly tournament poker table.
The winner will be gifted his or her own Green table, which has been manufactured by New Jersey-based company EGM Green.
The new table has been made of 98 per cent sustainable materials.
EGM Green says that applying sustainable design principles to poker tables and other casino products may helpfully reduce volumes of waste, decrease use of natural resources, and cut impacts on ecosystems.
The company has revealed that the table is assembled with water-based adhesives, and all paints and stains used in it are formaldehyde free.
We are pleased that Harrahs has chosen to debut the table at the WSOP,” the Environmental News Network quoted EGM Green President Eric Hansel as saying.
“Casinos are taking up the mantle of sustainability and leading the charge is Harrahs Entertainment, Inc. EGM Green is positioned to help drive sustainable change by offering green products developed for casinos, he added.
The Green table will be displayed in the exhibit area of the WSOP in the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino, where its makers will talk about what their companies are doing to tread lightly on the Earth. (ANI)
