Nothing better than silencing Indian crowd: Swann

Virender Sehwag Nagpur, Feb 24(ANI): Ahead of Sunday’s India-England World Cup clash in Bangalore, England off-spinner Graeme Swann has said that there is no better sound than the silence of an Indian crowd.

“It’s a huge game. But there is nothing better than silencing an Indian crowd. You don’t want them to be screaming all day because it is simply ear-shattering,” the Daily Express quoted Swann, as saying.

“We will need to raise our standards, particularly in the field because, let’s face it, we were like a bunch of schoolboys against Holland,” he added.

The 31-year-old further said that in-form opener Virender Sehwag would be the dangerman, and also revealed that his fast bowling partners have ‘game plans’ to get him out early.

“We need to get Sehwag out in the first couple of overs. We have our game plans and we know how we’re going to bowl at him, but I’m not going to give him a heads up.” Swann said.

Sehwag had hit 175 as India rattled up 370-4 against Bangladesh in their World Cup opener last Saturday. (ANI)
