Norway killer Breivik revisits site of shooting rampage
August 15th, 2011 - 4:29 am ICT by IANSMoscow, Aug 15 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Norwegian Police have taken mass killer Anders Behring Breivik back to Utoeya island to reconstruct his slaughter of 69 people.
The 32-year-old gunman described the killings, which he committed July 22, in close detail during an eight-hour tour on the island over the weekend, prosecutor Paal-Fredrik Hjort Kraby told a press conference in Oslo.
Breivik was handcuffed and had on leg shackles when taken to the island. Held tightly on a police leash, the gunman was seen pointing to where he had fired shots.
Heavily armed police officers shielded the far-right extremist from public view. Six police boats were deployed around the island, while a police helicopter flew over it.
Police later said Breivik showed no remorse.
Breivik’s attacks also killed eight in an Oslo bombing. The gunman, who was remanded in custody July 25, has admitted to being responsible for the car bomb in Oslo and the subsequent shooting on Utoeya island.
