North Korea’s Kim Jong-Il meets Chinese President Hu Jintao’s special envoy
September 18th, 2009 - 4:48 pm ICT by ANIPyongyang, Sep. 18 (ANI): North Korea’s top leader Kim Jong Il on Friday met with Chinese President Hu Jintao’s special envoy, Dai Bingguo, in Pyongyang.
According to Xinhua, Dai delivered Hu’s letter to Kim, saying, “the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government have attached great importance to the relationship between China and the DPRK”
In the spirit of “inheriting the tradition, facing to the future, developing the good-neighborly relations and strengthening the cooperation,” China is ready to consolidate and develop the relationship between the two countries, Xinhua quoted Hu’s letter, as saying.
The Chinese president’s letter added: “It is China’s consistent goal to realize denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula and to safeguard and promote peace, stability and development of Northeast Asia.”
“China is ready to spare no effort to work with the DPRK to realize such goal.” (ANI)
