North Korea tests five short-range missiles (Lead)
October 12th, 2009 - 8:20 pm ICT by IANSSeoul, Oct 12 (Xinhua) North Korea Monday test-fired five short-range missiles off its eastern coast, the Yonhap news agency reported, citing government sources.
The missiles were launched from the bases between North Hamgyeong and Gangwon provinces, it said.
North Korea had issued a ban on navigation in waters off its east and west coasts from Oct 10-20, it added.
The missile tests were part of routine military drill, it said, citing local experts.
