Dec.24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Blogging has got the web users hooked to it but few of the bloggers think of using blogging as an alternative platform to make money. Matt Kepnes is an exception though. The travel blogger realized that he could use his travel blog site as an weapon to earn money. He has made it to the front page of the web site of the coveted NY Times. In a recent interview, he narrated how he hit upon the idea and the way other bloggers can make money from their blogs. He created a site named NomadicMatt.com, where he started publishing his blogs in 2008.
It was when Matt Kepnes was enjoying a backpacking trip in Asia in 2005 that the idea of using his travel blogs as a means to earn, occurred to him. His efforts has worked out well and now he does not have to think of doing a conventional job for living. He did not have much idea to set up a site and host it on the web. That is why he took the help of his friends. The learning curve was not tough for him and once he got the hang of it things fell into place.
He needs to pay just $250 once in three years to the hosting company. It took around six to seven months for him to get readers for his blogs. His popularity as a travel blog writer grew gradually. After that he started getting offers from advertisers for putting their ads in his site. More offers followed and he found a quick and easy way of earning through his blog site. He also gives tips to travelers in his blogs.

Indeed, it’s good to see someone turning what they love in to a profession and a lucrative one at that considering the time being put in.
Golf clap.
