The country was presently under emergency rule, the Constitution was in abeyance and no decision has as yet been made for holding elections on schedule, Azeem told a foreign news agency.

He said that no schedule has been given for the general elections, but the government would possibly wish to remain in power till the time given in the Constitution, The News reported.

Azeem dismissed the statement of the Attorney General saying that the assemblies would be dissolved on November 15 and the general elections in the country would be held before Muharram in January. (ANI)
