New Russian n-sub completes first sea trials
October 6th, 2011 - 4:01 pm ICT by IANSMoscow, Oct 6 (IANS/RIA Novosti) The first Russian Severodvinsk class nuclear-powered attack submarine has successfully completed its initial sea trials, its builder Sevmash said Thursday.
“The trial was successful. Tests of the ship’s systems were held as scheduled,” the shipyard said in a statement.
The Russian Navy will receive its first Severodvinsk class submarine in late 2011.
Sevmash is planning to build six submarines of this class.
