New Hampshire ex-teacher pleads guilty to sending her nude photographs to students
July 27th, 2010 - 7:26 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattDerry, July 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Forty-one year old Melinda Dennehy, who was working formerly as a high school teacher has pleaded guilty to charges that she took naked pictures of herself and then emailed them to her teenage student.
A charge of indecent exposure was leveled against the former teacher who lives in Hampstead, New Hampshire and she decided to plead guilty to the charge. It seems that she pleaded guilty on the advice of her lawyers.
After her guilty plea, a deal was reached with prosecutors and this helped her avoid going to jail at least for now. She was handed a suspended prison sentence and will only be effective if she failed to be on good behavior and stay away from the 15-year-old student to whom she had emailed her nude pictures.
She also said she was sorry for her behavior and indiscretion in court. She said she’s started counseling and plans not to engage herself in such irresponsible behaviors in the future.
It ought to be mentioned that in March her nude photos were leaked and soon she was arrested around that period too. After her arrest and the breakout of the scandal she had no option, but to quit her job.
