Neighbours overlooked Dungeon dads suspicious behaviourMarch 2nd, 2009 - 12:44 pm ICT by ANI
London, Mar 2 (ANI): Dungeon dad Josef Fritzl has claimed that his neighbours never got suspicious of his strange behaviour, while he carried on with his secret life in the underground cellar.
The Austrian sex beast captured his daughter Elisabeth, 42, in a dungeon beneath his home, raped her for 24 long years, and fathered seven children with her.
Details of psychological profiles drawn up ahead of his trial in two weeks time reveal that Fritzl could carry on his misdeeds without fear of being exposed.
He disclosed how he took provisions to the dungeon without worrying about his neighbours getting any inclination of what he was up to.
“Sometime I took food for my secondary family into the cellar in the full light of day, the Telegraph quoted him as saying.
He added: “And in addition, no-one enquired if I took tiles, iron cabinets, TVs and furniture into the cellar, nor when noises could be heard coming from it.”
Such “turning away” attitude of Austrians has fuelled debate among intellectuals, who have claimed that it stems from a deep-rooted obedience to authority figures like Fritzl.
Extracts of the profiles written by four doctors have disclosed that 73-year-old Fritzl was in control of his actions every step of the way in the treatment of his own daughter Elisabeth, then 18, in a secret dungeon beneath his home.
Fritzls trial is scheduled for March 16, and the verdict is expected by March 20.
He faces a charge of murder over one of Elisabeths baby that died in the cellar, incest, rape, slavery, cruelty and false imprisonment. (ANI)
