Navy commander among two killed in Karachi
September 1st, 2011 - 3:26 am ICT by IANSIslamabad, Sep 1 (IANS) Two people, including a lieutenant commander of Pakistan Navy, were shot dead by gunmen Wednesday in the country’s port city of Karachi.
Both were returning from Eid prayers when they were attacked by motorcycle-borne assailants in sector 11-B of the city, Geo TV said.
One of them died on the spot while the other succumbed to his injuries in a hospital.
Karachi has witnessed a spurt of target killings in recent months. The government has vowed to end the violence although it seems to be spiralling out of control.
