May 20th, 2010 - 11:13 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 20 (IANS) In a major breakthrough, the key accused in the Naval war room leak case Ravi Shankaran has been arrested in London.
Confirming Shankran’s arrest, a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) spokesperson here said Shankaran was arrested by the London Police and is at present out on bail.
The CBI has initiated the legal process for his extradition, the spokesman said.
A close relative of former Naval chief Admiral Arun Prakash, 46-year old Shankaran, is accused of passing vital security information to arms dealers.
A Delhi court had declared him a proclaimed offender and issued Interpol notices against him in 2006.
The government later revoked his passport and approached a British court for his arrest. He, however, gave police the slip.
