Nalin Surie takes over as Indian high commissioner to Britain
September 23rd, 2009 - 5:02 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Sep 23 (IANS) Nalin Surie, a senior career diplomat, has taken over as the Indian high commissioner to Britain following the retirement of his predecessor Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, the High Commission announced.
A diplomat of wide experience, Surie, who was secretary (west) in the external affairs ministry, took over Sep 18 and is expected to present his credentials to Queen Elizabeth II soon.
Surie, 58, has also been India’s Ambassador to China and Poland, and served in Indian missions in Hong Kong, Brussels, Dar-es-Salaam, Thimphu and New York (as deputy permanent representative to the UN).
