Connecticut, Aug 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In Connecticut the Muslim leaders have asked for police protection as the holy month of Ramzan has started. They were scared by the threat issued by a group. They were confronted by a protester group on Friday and after that they are worried about worshiping without obstruction. Reportedly the worshippers were threatened at Bridgeport’s Masjid An-Noor mosque by a group named Operation Save America and the protesters stayed there for an hour. The protesters shouted at the Muslim worshippers with a bullhorn. The protest by the group has made the Muslims in Connecticut alarmed.
The protest incident did not result in any scuffle and injury as such but shouting hateful slogan at a religious group when they celebrate an important event and ritual is not a nice idea either. The group responsible for the Bridge port incident named Operation Save America was created as an anti abortion group. During the Ramjan the footfall at mosques shot up and if more such incidents take place it may result in communal tensions. The hateful speeches during a holy event can also make the Muslim worshippers irate as well. During this holy month the Muslims all over the worlds adhere to certain rituals related to food and lifestyle rigorously.
Connecticut has a Muslim population above 100000. The authorities are also concerned about this development. The moderate Muslim leaders are of the opinion that the anti Muslim believers need to be educated about the core beliefs and ways of Islam. They have a misconception that Islam is associated with aggressive militancy which needs to be dissolved.
