Musharraf will certainly quit if pressured: Presidential aideMarch 16th, 2008 - 1:47 pm ICT by admin
Islamabad, Mar 16 (ANI): A key advisor to President Pervez Musharraf has claimed that the latter will quit his office should the victorious opposition led by the Pakistan Peoples Party(PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) pursue actions not acceptable to him.
“The President that I know of, should be thinking of leaving his office,” said the key aide, who is also on his way out after serving Musharraf loyally for several years.
When asked whether the Pakistan Army would come to Musharrafs rescue if the new government and Parliament restored the deposed judges or clipped the President’s power, he said the military would stay out of politics.
The presidency, however, has repeatedly stated that Musharraf has no plans of quitting and would continue in the office for five years. (ANI)
