London, Jan. 4 (ANI): While British Tennis star Andy Murray fears that Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal could prevent him from winning a Grand Slam, but he insists that he’d still be considered a success at the end of his career even if he fails to win a major.
“That’s what I want to do. But this is one of, if not the toughest era in tennis. You can play great and not win right now because of how good the other players are. I’ll try my best to win a Grand Slam, that’s my goal,” The Daily Express quoted Murray, as saying.”But I still think you can be successful in tennis even if you don’t win one. Having said that, I would be disappointed if I didn’t,” he added. Murray, 22, has already reached the final of the 2008 US Open, where he lost to record Grand Slam winner Roger Federer.Murray indicated that the fierce competition was also a key reason for his decision to skip Great Britain’s Davis Cup Europe-Africa Zone Group Two tie in Lithuania in March. But he defended his decision by pointing out his rivals to had opted to skip the competition in the past.
“It would be a bit unfair to single me out. Federer, Nadal and Djokovic have missed Davis Cup matches, as have Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi,” he said. (ANI)
