‘Murdered Indian Australian was still alive when dumped in spa with dead sisters’
August 25th, 2009 - 12:43 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, Aug 25 (ANI): Almost six years after Neelma Singh, 24, her brother Kunal, 18, and sister Sidhi, 12, were allegedly murdered in their home in Bridgeman Downs, a Brisbane Court was informed today that the boy was still alive when he was dumped in a steaming spa bath.
Pathologist Dr Alex Olumbe was giving evidence this morning at the hearing for Massimo “Max” Sica, 38, who is charged with killing his former girlfriend Neelma, her brother and younger sister in April 2003.
Dr Olumbe, who performed autopsies on the three Singh siblings, told Brisbane Magistrates Court that all three siblings were bashed with a garden fork.
He said Kunal was most likely unconscious when dumped in the bath. The cause of death, in his opinion, was drowning, The Courier Mail reports.
Dr Olumbe said water in the chest cavity showed Kunal was most likely still alive when he was dumped in the spa with the bodies of his sisters.
Earlier, Dr Olumbe told the court that Neelma was strangled to death before being put in a spa bath.
He told Brisbane Magistrates Court that he believed Neelma was already dead when her body was put in the spa bath, as there was no evidence to suggest she had drowned.
Dr Olumbe said Sidhi had suffered extensive head injuries, with multiple fractures and bone splintering likely caused by severe force with a blunt object. (ANI)
