Mumbai terror attack due to intelligence failure: Lalu
December 2nd, 2008 - 9:37 pm ICT by IANS ( 1 comment )New Delhi, Dec 2 (IANS) The devastating terrorist attack in Mumbai was a case of intelligence failure and could have been avoided, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad said here Tuesday.”One cannot deny that there was a laxity on the part of our intellegence agencies. There was a warning of the attack but that was of a more general kind. The whole system needs to be overhauled and right people should be put in the right place,” Lalu Prasad told reporters.
“Prevention is better than cure. Our intelligence failed to prevent it,” he said.
“However, this is not the time for allegations and counter-allegations. Everybody has a role to play in the system and people need to be responsible. We need to come together at this moment and think of improving it rather than putting blame on each other,” the minister said.
“Also, our intellegence system requires more funds. The intellegence and security system has to be better equipped. We need good security equipment,” Lalu Prasad said.
At least 183 people, including 22 foreign nationals, were killed in the multiple terrorist strikes in Mumbai, beginning Wednesday night.

as usual absolute nonsense by politicians and the press about the mumbai tragedy. all exploit this killing spree for political advantage. suicide terrorism is based upon desperate fundamentalist response to the worlds corrupt greed and money and power amorality. just like the twin towers there is no way to avoid this pandemic of suicide terrorism through which millions are being spent and wasted highly profitable on counter terrorism since 9/ 11 american twin towers collapse. of course the causes of this form of murdering which has been around since richard the lion heart and before are totally bypassed and ignored. the massacre of 6 million jews in the holocaust and the hutu tutsi massacres are all forms of terrorism. but mumbai involved a few tourists americans germans and israelis etc which has caused this overblown political reaction. how much more bullshit must the citizens of planet earth suffer before political realities are dealt with as the rich and powerful are now endangering the future generations of homo sapiens. millions are and will continue to die as a result of mans worship of the golden calf and idolatry. dr adam rosenblatt
