She made this statement after reportedly being told that her name has been placed on the Exit Control List (ECL).
Mai said she had got an email from the Governor of the Lions Club in California, Jack Marous, that her name had been put on the ECL, the Dawn reported.
Benazir Bhutto told reporters on Friday Mukhtar Mai’s name was on the ECL.
Mai said it would not be the first time that her visit to another country has been prevented by the Pakistan Government.
Condemning the arrest of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan Asma Jehangir and other human rights activists, besides lawyers and political workers, Mai said she had been invited by the Lions Club of California to attend a function on women rights. (ANI)
