Mubarak to go on trial over protester shootings
May 25th, 2011 - 5:15 am ICT by IANSCairo, May 25 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak and his two sons will go on trial over the shooting of peaceful protesters, national media reported Tuesday.
The order was issued by Egyptian Prosecutor-General Abdel Meguid Mahmoud.
No date has been set for the trial.
Mubarak is under preventive detention on charges of corruption. His two sons, Alaa and Gamal, are already in jail.
