Madrid, Apr 30(ANI): Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has said that he is determined to continue his job despite Wednesday’s 2-0 Champions League defeat against Barcelona and the disciplinary case he faces for his post-match comments.

“I have more desire to continue as coach of Real Madrid,” the Telegraph quoted Mourinho, as saying.

“The [Real] shirt is white and white has meaning. I am in very good shape. My health is perfect and I am working as always,” he added.

Mourinho further said that he did not want to add to his comments.

“I don’t want to speak about the issue for a simple reason: a picture is worth more than words,” he said, referring to the thousands of published images of Pepe’s challenge on Daniel Alves that resulted in his sending-off.

The Real Madrid manager had alleged that Barcelona received favourable treatment from referees and claimed the club had yet to win a “clean” European title under manager Pep Guardiola.

He even named the referees he believes have helped Barcelona. They included Wolfgang Stark (in charge on Wednesday night), Tom Henning Ovrebo (referee when Barcelona beat Chelsea in 2009), Frank de Bleeckere (sent off Inter Milan’s Thiago Motta in last year’s semi-final) and Anders Frisk (retired soon after another controversial Chelsea v Barcelona game).

The European game’s governing body, UEFA, has opened an investigation on the claims, which could result in a raft of disciplinary charges.

Barcelona had claimed that the Portuguese manager’s allegations could incite violence. (ANI)
