Sepang (Malaysia), March 21 (IANS) India’s Aditya Patel struggled with his car in his international formula racing debut and could only return fourth best time of two minutes, 15.798 seconds among rookies in the Formula BMW Pacific free practice session here Friday. The 19-year-old from Chennai was overall 11th among 14 drivers, but ahead of his Eurasia team-mate Marlon Stockinger from the Philippines who clocked 2:16.112.
In the six-driver rookie class, S. Moss (South Africa) of team Mahara was the quickest at 2:14.314 that placed him fourth overall.
Topping the time charts was Team E-Rain’s S. McDonagh with 2:13.375.
Aditya told IANS that he was not too pleased with the handling of his car that had undergone quite an overhaul during the recent test sessions, but was hopeful of improving his performance during the qualifying session scheduled Saturday.
