Most Taiwanese men, women disapprove of TV ads featuring busty teen girls
June 4th, 2009 - 6:01 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Melbourne, Jun 4 (ANI): A new survey has revealed that a huge majority of men and women disapprove of TV ads featuring big-breasted teenage girls, who appear to have limited intelligence.
The survey was taken in Taiwan, and it showed that 86 per cent of men and women disliked the increasing amount of such TV advertisements on their screens.
The county government conducted the survey in conjunction with the Taichung Women’s Reading Society to try to correct some Taiwanese misconceptions that men prefer women with large breasts, and care little for their intellectual capacity.
Chang Chuang-hsi, deputy magistrate of Taichung County, said that the purpose of the survey was to correct stereotypes of women.
“What matters is what you have in your brain, your behaviour, your manners and your health,” the Daily Telegraph quoted him as telling a news conference.
Wang Hsiu-yen, head of the county government’s social works department, said that the survey showed that many Taiwan women were still bound by the traditional stereotype that women with large breasts had more sex appeal.
“It is high time for women to shake off such stereotypes,” she added. (ANI)
