Most Oz women believe they have low sex drives, reveals studyNovember 28th, 2008 - 3:23 pm ICT by ANI
Melbourne, Nov 28 (ANI): Most women Down Under believe that they have abnormally low sex drives, reveals a new research, which has shown that most ladies get in the mood for intimacy after the kinky event has begun.
The Deakin University conducted the research.
However, according to experts, being off the boil in the bedroom is so common it should be considered the norm.
The study has shown that 60 per cent of women describe their libido as unusually low.
“We found the normal way in which women experience desire is once they are already engaged in sexual activity, the Herald Sun quoted Deakin psychologist Prof Marita McCabe, as saying on releasing its study of 400 women.
The researcher astonishingly found that women did not realise it was normal for their sex drive to have highs and lows.
“In movies, on TV, in magazines what you see is sexual women, women wanting sex, engaging in sex and that seems the norm,” she said.
“Women who have low levels of desire think there is something wrong with them. But if you”re working hard, if you”ve got kids, if you haven”t got much family support, it’’s not surprising you”re not interested in sex at that time. That is a perfectly normal response. We need to redesign what is abnormal,” she added.
The expert said that fatigue, stress, work and children were major passion- killers.
“Those factors really reduced women’’s interest in spontaneous sex, as well as the extent to which they experienced desire in the actual sexual situation,” she said.
Another major turn-off was a lack of communication and consideration from a partner.
“If a man wants sexual interaction then there’’s a whole lot of things he can do that have nothing to do with sex. Washing dishes can be foreplay, she said. (ANI)
