Most Americans can’t name single GOP candidate: Poll

Washington, Apr 21 (ANI): Over 50 percent of Americans can not name a single GOP presidential candidate, according to a Pew Research Center survey.
The survey revealed that 53 percent of Americans, could not name anyone when asked which Republican candidate that had heard about the most.
Twenty-six percent of Americans surveyed, named American businessman Donald Trump as the candidate they’ve heard the most about, CBS News reports.
Very few people could name former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, former House speaker Newt Gingrich and former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty.
The poll suggests the public knows little about potential GOP candidates because they lack interest, or because of relatively little news coverage on the subject.
Just 20 percent of Americans said they followed news about possible GOP candidates very closely, and the coverage of the presidential race only made up two percent of news coverage in the past week, according to Pew. (ANI)
