Moderate quake jolts Gujarat (Lead)
October 21st, 2011 - 2:54 am ICT by IANSAhmedabad, Oct 21 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale hit Gujarat state Thursday night, the Seismology department said. There were no immediate reports of casualty or damage to property.
The quake, which had its epicentre in Junagad district of Gujarat, hit the region at 8.49 p.m., an official told IANS over phone.
The epicentre, with a focal depth of 10 km, was stated to be 21.2 degrees north latitude and 70.7 degrees east longitude.
