Moderate earthquakes rattle southern California
May 9th, 2010 - 2:11 am ICT by BNO NewsSAN DIEGO (BNO NEWS) — Two moderate earthquakes shook southern California on late Saturday morning, seismologists said. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
The first earthquake at 11.33 a.m. local time, which had a magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale, was centered about 11 miles (17 kilometers) southwest of Seeley.
The second earthquake at 11.46 a.m. local time, which had a magnitude of 4.7 on the Richter scale, was centered about 12 miles (19 kilometers) east-southeast of Ocotillo.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
